Hi
Looking for some advice,
Am replacing a NA (1990) B6ZE with an imported NB (2000) B6ZE. Looks like all the wires from NA ECU go to the right places, except the Camshaft Position sensor. Which has gone from back to front with different connector?
Is it possible to retrofit NA Camshaft Position sensor to NB Motor? The hole is there; just the Camshaft isn't notched or long enough to reach?
Can you advise a fix? Whether retrofit (adaptor) or rewire plug? Can you use the NA ECU CMS wires for the NB CMS?
Any help appreciated
Thanks Mark

I read on here somewhere that you need to replace the engine loom but I may be confusing that with the variable valve motors.

Re: Cam Position sensor on NA B6ZE vs NB B6ZE
I had this swap done a few years ago when I had an MX-5. The solution with mine was having the inlet camshaft of the NB6 engine machined with a slot to fit the original NA6 camshaft sensor. This was done for the MX5+ shop who I bought the NB6 engine from.
You'll probably need to take both inlet camshafts to a engine rebuilding workshop maybe to have them cut a new slot if you don't find a different solution.

I'v also done something similar. My initial swap involved getting the intake camshaft modified to work with the NA CAS.
My car now runs the NB style cam and crank sensors, but I have a Megasquirt ECU.

On a lesser note, with this swap you'll also need to change the alternator pulley or water pump pulley. Or take the opportunity to upgrade with a higher amp alternator. I went with a Ford Laser KF-KH/Mazda 323 BG alternator with also a pulley swap.
