I think that pretty much sums it up
Though even when you realise people are idiots, and check twice doing everything. Someone will still manage to hit you.

The defensive driving course should have told you to watch everything around you a bit more carefully and not to hang around in people's blind spots. To overtake in an MX5 you need to check out every car first, then blip through.

Is yours a Titanium?

This is why I was Increasing my speed Just before his first indication to get around him. I didn't want to be much closer to the car in front before this point.

Its a standard black NB 02

For those wondering im using the 2012 version of this dashcam http://www.amazon.com/PowerUCC-Panorama ... B00JFUU5OM

It's impressive how poorly some people drive. I swear it's mostly 4wd drivers and ute drivers, but that could just be confirmation bias.

First thing I bought for my mx was a set of air horns - regularly used in car parks!
NB SE, NA 1.8.

Unfortunate! We've all been 'nearly' hit by city SUV drivers before, good thing it was only at slow speeds.

Did the insurance company put him at fault instead of you?
Because reasons.

Nautilus horn on mine along with the OEM horns. Great to see the SUV daydreamers wake up with a shock when they start to wander, thinking they're about to be taken out by a big rig.

I want a camera for Christmas like this. What one do you have, it seems excellent in daylight but how's it go at night time? Thanks

Was thinking on this one this afternoon, as we have a similarly arranged roundabout near home, where if you're proceeding straight you need to do so from the left hand lane, with the right lane being right turn only.

This is actually a really good lesson in defensive driving. For someone sitting where the Kluger is, there are a couple of factors at play:
- given the flow of traffic, they may have been there for a while
- many of the cars turning left will fail to indicate, costing opportunities to pull out
- larger vehicles turning left will block vision of vehicles behind

So, for someone approaching as you did in the video, you are dealing with a vision-compromised driver who is probably starting to get frustrated. They're clearly in the wrong, but you need to be very aware that it is quite likely they will pull out. I'll take a precautionary brake and a beep over being in the right in an accident every time.

Not too far off though.
I have just purchased one of these, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uirzCD-qALE
Landed for under $120.00 including a 32 Gig Class 10 Micro SD card.
Greg.
When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

All agreed, except make the beep into a real wake up call for the SUVist with a Nautilus or similar. Frankly, I think we should be allowed to use Exocets (the missiles, not the "cars").

From your video it looked like you accelerated a little just before impact? The guys are saying get a bigger horn but I just wonder maybe a shot of NOS might have got you past with less damage?

Yes I did the car ahead of me had started accelerating and thus I finally had enough of a gap between the car in front of me to pass the klugger swiftly as I was trying to avoid being in his blind spot and not tailgating. I noticed the traffic slowing in the right lane as my hood was passing the rear of the SUV and then all I saw was the side of the suv heading towards me.

Insurance is pretty clear cut, He is legally at fault for failing to give way. I do have airhorns but I have not installed them yet.
