Regie,
I was under the impression that all Qantas maintenance is now outsourced overseas.
Is this wrong or did they revert back?

Most of the maintenance is done in Australia. All the major - heavy stuff on 767-A330 and 737 is done in Brisbane. The 744 and 380 are done overseas as we don't have the capacity (manpower) here in Aust.

Im working more in the Line environment, Overmight maintenance, day stoppers and quick turn arounds.

Nice - by coincidence, flew home from Hawaii in one of Hawaiian's old 767s, which get rotated out of the Brisbane route this month. Flight crew were actually a little surprised it wasn't an Airbus.

Thanks for the explanation Regie. Good to hear that some maintenance is still done here. :)
