Yesterday I detailed my paint. Clayed, polished and two costs of wax, plus the required washing, and washing my girlfriend's Getz. That wrecked me! Hours of leaning over the car rubbing with a small pad. Next time I'm going to kidnap Crapweasel and his orbital! This picture doesn't to it justice:

Just measured the ride height, both pinch weld and wheel arch methods, the car is one centermeter higher on the passenger side, both front and rear, than the drivers side.

Well, I feel justified in buying new coilovers now! :)

Imagine how much worse it is when you add a driver to the low side...... :|

Lach it's nothing to worry about don't stress.
By all means use it as justification for buying coils sooner, but no your car is not going to flip or become dangerous haha.

This might happen if you corner too quickly :lol: but no seriously, its not going to help the handling but its not going to do anything drastic. It is however a great excuse to get coilovers so Id take that :D

Hmm been a while since I wrote this, but other than the purchasing of parts, not too much has happened. I've been holding on to new coilovers and an intercooler for a few weeks now, awaiting the dodgy day.

We had a hail storm here last week, and my poor baby caught 3 dents! Could have been worse for sure, but still not too happy about it.

On Saturday Magpie hosted a Dodgy Day out at his property. The plan was to install and corner weight a set of HSD coilovers, and install a bigger intercooler. Well, despite an early start, time got away from us somehow and we only managed to install and set the height of the coilovers. I learned a lot about suspension from Magpie, most of it's taken a day or two to sink in and for me to understand though.

Magpie basically did the front coilovers while explaining to me what we were doing and why, and after starting me off on the rears he left me to it. I don't think I got it right though, and on the way home I was bottoming out on the rear driver's side fairly easily. So on Sunday I put the car up and adjusted that shock. No longer bottoming out, but the heights are a little off now. I think I need to spend some time, pull both rear shocks and try again from scratch. I'm confident now I've thought on it that I know what to do and why.

The car is generally at a nice height, and riding much better than before. The suspension feels quicker to respond to bumps, and the car feels more planted than before, feels like I can put power in sooner and harder when cornering. With a proper setup of the rear to happen next week, corner weighting to happen after Christmas back at Magpie's, then an alignment in early January should see the whole shebang sorted quite nicely!

I removed the sun visors a month or two back, gives a bit more windscreen to look out of, but left two silver ovals in the across the top. Pezchops kindly brought some rubber to the Dodgy Day and his wife Lilly cut out some sun visor blanks for me :mrgreen:

Lokiel has offered to assist with the intercooler, so I will be setting up a time with him and heading over to his workshop/garage ASAP.

And lastly I took the car for a wash yesterday afternoon after adjusting the suspension, it was well overdue!

I find that my rear right bottoms out a bit too, I've kinda learned to just live with it :P

I expect to bottom out from time to time, the shocks are a lot shorter after all, but it was happening ridiculously easily. Not so much now and the rear is still a little lower than it should be, so I know I can set it up better.

I'm off for 2 weeks after this week, so I'm going to try to beg/borrow/steal a rattle and some sockets and redo them.
