As an earlier post suggested, check the PPF bolts as well as the rear engine mount and bolts.

Soooooo I changed my front Bearings today after about a week of gradual increase in grinding and knocks from the front end under braking and turning. The test drive after was silent so I'm thinking this was the solution, fingers crossed! Thanks for all your suggestions too, just started the third lap of the odometer so a lot of that stuff will need checking anyway.

Revelation.. Sound is coming from rear, as confirmed by my mate standing outside the car and me doing a slow drive by. Symptoms indicate worn u joints, so gna look into that
