My idle is forcing itself to between 2k to 3k rpm I have no idea what is causing this too force it so high.
The car is an 89 NA 1.6. I've put Toyota corolla cops running in a wasted spark configuration. I'm also running a TD04 turbocharger. The ECU is a 440 select PNP. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure this out.
Any help would be amazing.

Re: NA6 turbo idle problems
Unlikely to be turbo or COP related.
Log your ECU, it's probably something like your TPS or the idle valve settings. How long have you been running the ECU? Was it ever idling correctly and/or did you change something before this started happening? If you unplug the TPS or idle valve does the rpm drop?

Re: NA6 turbo idle problems
Yeah the idle was relatively good, as in the 1000rpm mark. I've been running the ECU for about 4 month now. Unplugging the TPS or the idle control had zero effect on the idle.
I have tested the WOT and closed position on the TPS and they are operating normal.
Unfortunately I can't attach the ECU or log files.
I'll try using a third party websites.
Thanks for the help folks

You can attach them as zipped files.

Re: NA6 turbo idle problems
If it's still idling high and the idle control is disconnected I'd assume you have a vacuum leak. You could try winding in the idle bleed valve and see if that makes a difference. Beyond that air is getting in somewhere other than your throttle body.

Re: NA6 turbo idle problems
So when did this high idle start?
Did you just start it one day and it was high?
Did it happen after boosting it?
Did you do any mods prior to the high idle?
More info needed.

You may have blown off the little nipple cap on the back of the inlet manifold???

Re: NA6 turbo idle problems
Does the idle change if the gearbox is in neutral or if the clutch is dis-engaged?
I had a similar problem on my Turbo NA6. Turns out that there is a switch attached to the clutch pedal that tells the ECU if the clutch is engaged or not. The switch had failed. I repaired the switch and all was good.
