Thanks again, everyone, some great answers there.

Particularly good analysis from you, Nev. Cheers.

Just one point that Nev missed is that in the RHD NAs at least the passenger footwell length is reduced by having the ECU placed in the front of it with a cover plate over it.

I've often had problems with long legged passengers. You can regain a 2 or 3 inches of that by moving the ECU into the glove box and leaving the cover plate off. There's enough length in the wiring loom to do it easily.

Thanks Manga, never really considered the passenger side as I've never actually sat in it!

The same would also apply to the NB as the ECU is located in the same place.

An interesting mod; I'd never heard of that one before. Sounds very worthwhile...!

Yeah, I fit fine in the drivers seat, both with an NB8B seat and the Sparco race seat bolted to the floor, but my sons are all over 6ft and they'd had enough of travelling with their knees around their ears.

My NB has the ECU relocated above the glove box in place of the passenger side airbag. That was possible by cutting a few ties anchoring the harness. In this case it was moved to avoid the danger of the ECU being flooded if water gets in the car.
