Q about Yellow speed Coilivers

okay so spring rates are 8kg Front and 6kg Rear Still seems weird to me. Spring is Captive at full droop as well

Margpie has BCs, ER in the rear and br?? In the front for memory.

Personally I think yellow speeds are crap and you'll chase your tail hoping to get something decent. I'd be selling them for some bcs or mca (unless you can afford MCA reds, in that case buy reds)

Having said that... The behaviour you mentioned does seem a bit odd. Have you tried talking to Mania?

Sailaholic is correct on my setup, however running 9/6 spring rates. MCA's being looked at to replace current setup. Once I get my unsprung weight I'll decide on springs/shocks.

Again I agee with Sailaholic something seems wrong.

I might give mania a call today and see what they suggest, it should be faulty parts as they are new but you never know haha

Why would you say to go Reds in a Daily? Curious on this

go the best your budget allows.
Reds aren't a "track" coil over like yellow speed vs yellow speed pro, they are just better then blues.
Spring rate is the same, the extra money is all in the valving, oil, and having them dyno tested prior to delivery.

I'd rate my reds are probably the best thing i've done to the car. I had some buyers uncertainty at first, but after fitting and driving them, and feeling them outperform a set of Ohline, i'd definitely go reds again.

Have you dríven an MX5 with Blues installed? are you able to compare if the extra 1k is worth the difference? also have you dríven an MX5 with BC's in it? (Just asking as my old MX5 had BC's and would like to hear a opinion on that difference) After reading up on their website I now understand they aren't as track orientated as I first thought so I will definitely consider them now.

No haven't dríven blues.

I've dríven Magpies car on bcs but not long enough to make a real opinion. Have a feeling I've dríven something else with Bcs but can't remember.

Have dríven ksport, ohlins, avo yellow speed and kings / konis.

Plohl has dríven my car (almost as much as me) and may have dríven BCs in someone else's car.

Alright ending this topic by saying today I have come to a conclusion on the issue..

So as I was purchasing this car I was told they were yellow speed coilovers, and they look like yellow speeds (yellow body and black springs) BUT they are in fact a yellow speed imitation off of eBay out of Hong Kong.

Thanks for the help on this topic guys but there is no saving this set of coilovers from the tip..

Some one will still pay money for them just to get low. $200 bucks is better then nothing.

He didn't really say they were yellowspeeds, more that they were yellow, and the previous owner said they were yellowspeeds.

Either way, sounds like a good thing, yellowspeed, ebayspeed, or whatever, there are much better setups out there.

Yeah, (I forgot who I spoke too) but they were extremely helpful in finding out all the info, so I will definitely be in contact with them in the future if I need anything from them [THUMBS UP SIGN]
