Thanks guys!

Further updates:

- Replaced the Toyo T1Rs with some Yoko AD08Rs (wow what a street tyre!)
- Replaced the 3.6 open with a 3.9 torsen

Has made the car that much more to drive (the torsen especially, can now do mad skidzzz)

Excited to see how the car will do at Winton at the AROCA day coming up.

Been busy recently, went to Winton and bettered my PB which now stands at 1:45.8. Still heaps of time in it, need to get rid of the OEM pads soon.

Since then, I've installed the omgpham frame rail braces I got in the group buy. Car feels a bit more solid and "tied together" over imperfections in the road. There are also less creaks pulling up my driveway compared to before. Even if it's a small improvement I'll take it.

Also picked up a titanium muffler off Yahoo Japan. It weighs 2.5kg compared to the stock muffler at ~9.6kg. If anyone knows what brand this is can you please let me know?!

Also sounds pretty nice :D

Hey mate

Did you have any trouble with fitting those 15x8 Enkei Compe's over the NB8B brakes? Was the 5mm spacer needed or was that just to fill the gaurds? Im keen on a set just not sure how easily the 15's fit.

Also how do you find the Bride seat compared to the Sparco, do you sit any lower? Is that fitted to the stock rails or did you need to buy new ones?

No issues with clearance, I actually took off 5mm spacer for the track.

The Bride is heaps more comfy, fibreglass shell compared to a steel frame. It's also a lot lower, especially when I take out the cushions, I'm basically sitting on the floor!

I have garage star rails which are side mounted to the seat.

Cheers dude. Glad there was no fitting issues with those Enkeis, Id always loved that wheel and that style of wheel but always thought it suited the NA and cars like the AE86 more but seeing them on your NB it looks bloody awesome. Very keen on a set now.

Might have to investigate the Bride seats a little more, they sound like a great upgrade for me in the future.

Went to Winton again yesterday, first couple of sessions were wet which were a lot of fun.

The AD08s surprised me in the wet, very predictable and grippier than I thought they would've been.

Shaved another 0.3 off without any major changes from the last time. Was on a flier of a lap which might have seen me dip into the 44s but stuffed a gearchange going into the final corner :(

I saw the 10 min video you put on the mx5 facebook page. The wet sessions looked very enjoyable with the tail out action, looked like you were keeping the pace up despite the wet track. :D

Hey mate nice video. I plan to get down south to Winton next year.

With the 3.9 in the rear now what kind of rpm are you pulling at 110kph?

I'm planning on replacing my 3.6 with 4.1s soon. I find my car is quieter on the highway when the engine is just over 3600rpm, which is over 110kph :|

At 110 on the speedo the revs are around 3300-3400 rpm. It's not too bad, I'd hate to imagine cruising at 110 with a 4.1 though!

JC,
Watching your 1:45 video, you certainly look to have your lines pretty much spot on.
I did a 1:45 in my black NB8A when it was stock with just a set of Nitto's and BC coilovers on it so I think you should have more time in the car.
Have you got a set of headers on the car? that should help with performance as I don't like the look of the stock NB8B exhaust manifold.

Have you been to Phillip Island yet?

Nah the engine is stock (intake and exhaust all stock) apart from a rear muffler. I actually had a set of headers and sold em because I thought the NB8B headers would be good enough, regretting now.

I don't have enough punch coming out of the last boob in 3rd but down shifting to 2nd is even slower I reckon.

Definitely more time, just gotta be a bit smoother and maybe some nice 225s down the track.

Do you still have the stock midpipe and cat?

I replaced mine with a hi flow cat and a 2.25 inch system. I still have the oem headers I find it does feel a little more free revving even without extractors. I figured the cost of a set not worth the little gain I might get..
Mind you the exhaust pieces I bought came with a replacement set of secondaries. But I still have the oem primaries.
