Hi guys, just did a leakage test and found the red and blue R134a valve caps on my AC system are leaking. My guess is worn O rings or the thread on the caps as they are just plastic.
Does anyone know where to buy these caps? I assumed these are generic but a search on ebay and supercheap didn't have much to offer.

such questions to me seem to answer themselves. If you want parts for aircond for cars then go to an aircond workshop. If you know the item required Bursons may have it. Supercheao is not really a full blown parts supplier- Bursons is. The internet is often a good time waster.

I don't think the caps do anything to seal the system, they just cap off the valve to protect it from dirt etc.
Like tyre valve stem caps, you'll see most people's are missing, tyres still hold air fine.

Re: Where to buy AC high/low pressure valve caps
At this point I do believe it is the caps. I already had an air con technician look at it with a leakage detector and that is what he has advised. No other areas of the system showed signs of leakage. The valve caps for tyres are just the cap body, whereas these caps have an O-ring, so clearly it is there for a complete seal. I observed one of my caps is not fastening in "straight" and the other has a flattened o-ring, hence my suspicion of o-ring wear and/or thread wear on the cap.
I will look into those suggestions, thanks.

... so do I, which is the exact reason for posting the question here.
The "internet" never suggested Bursons, in fact I had never heard of them which is a shame because a quick phone call appears to have solved my problems and I will be going into the local store to buy new caps hopefully.
Thank you Mr M for the suggestion.

Weird, because I converted my old Na8 to aircon, and caps were missing but was never an issue with 1+ year of using AC.

Re: Where to buy AC high/low pressure valve caps
That would seem reasonable Em. The valve would almost completely seal the system and the caps probably just finish it off. Just like tyres, with the cap off the tyre will leak slowly. The leak I have has been very slow, I've had the car for some time now, I guess the refrigerant gas has only dropped to a level where it is noticeable now.
