Personally I really struggle with fatigue resulting from the long travel times between Goulburn and Melbourne. There is talk of upping the limits on those section to 140, but I'd say 160 or 180 could work.

The problem with speeds over 100 kmh in Australia is the idiots that are out there now that cant drive at 80.
.Euro drivers are so much better drivers just have a look at how a drivers license is granted in Germany its a privileged to drive on the roads in Germany .
Just look around you at Bankstown / Lakemba / go for a drive down Canterbury Road and make up your own mind what would happen if these drivers were able to travel at 140 there would be carnage .

Those 'idiots' are doing skids and going fast in 50-80 speed zones, that's a completely different problem to increasing the speed on the highway and the decision criteria for increasing highway limits should be around how many more/less people will get into crashes driving at a consistent speed that is faster than the current one since that's all you are doing in 110 zones.

Not that I think they are ever going to up the speed limit, the 'speed = safe' message is too nailed into peoples heads and they'll fall back on the idea that any increase in fatalities is unacceptable so you won't even be able to test the theory that faster could be safer.
