Thanks for the detailed run down danny, it great to know the issues that go on behind the laps as well.

Fantastic stuff, Danny. What a car! A friend of mine who was down there for the weekend said he saw your car, that it sounded mental and was the angriest car there

How did the data collection go?
The data collection went well...just haven't had any time to review it. Probably won't for another week or so as I want to go through it with my tuner, and he has just flown out to Taiwan to tune some cars.

No problem at all Nick. It's all part of the motorsport journey.

When I get time I'll update the build thread and document the crazy last few weeks leading into WTAC 2014.

Cheers,
Danny

Re: NC Track Car - In the Build
As silly as it sounds Danny, a cheap PS3 and a copy of V8 supercars is a great way to learn Eastern creek, well the old track at least, so you know where the corners are. I know with the changes and the extra run off at turn 5, the straight lining of turn 6 into 7 and the extra run off at 9 it is probably a couple of seconds quicker than before the extensions. Also good for any other Australian tracks.
Will be good to see how much faster you can go next year.
And I bet the first fix is to replace the plastic selector bushes with metal......

Re: NC Track Car - In the Build
Time to back track a bit and start to document the last few weeks leading into WTAC 2014.
We weren't able to get enough negative camber using the OEM lower wishbones so custom ones were designed and fabricated by MR Tuning. In addition to this we changed the front roll centre by lowering the upper wishbone pivot position. This is the jigging arrangement.

For the rear suspension the complete offering from Megan Racing was used to give almost infinite adjustment.
(NB. one link is missing from this photo)

The heat exchanger bonnet duct in progress....

Bits and pieces going back in for hopefully the final time.
Clutch master cylinder

Pedal assemblies with Mazdaspeed pedals

OEM heat shield

Coolant header and overflow tanks

Electric water pump and remote oil filter assembly

The air jacks

Fluid bulkhead fittings

The fire suppression system bottle

Odds and ends painted satin black

The next series of photos captures part of the process of laying the carbon in the mould for the rear clip. This is the filtered and pressurised clean room where the carbon work was undertaken.

This is top layer of carbon twill.

Cheers,
Danny

Think I have a carbon fibre fetish.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
