NA 4x114.3 Hub Conversion
Hi guys, has anyone on here ever done a 4x114.3 hub conversion? Not talking about bolt on adaptor spacers (do not want to run spacers) but a proper hub conversion? There's not enough material on NA hubs to re drill to 4x114.3. I've heard of some 323/protege and FC RX7 hubs being used but can't find any info to support this. Any help would be much appreciated as I'm desperate to convert my hubs as soon as possible. ありがと!

I know it's not helpful but why do you want to convert them?

The only reason would be rims pcd.
Dunno if it is possible, but sure rotors and then calipers would have to be changed also to fit. Alot of work for just changing pcd.

Converting due to wheel options. The brakes are only a minor issue, I'm dead against spacers and a hub conversion is potentially expensive but entirely worth it.

Why? There are plenty of options for redrilling wheels to suit the MX5 PCD or getting wheels custom made to suit.

Rotors for sure, callipers not necessarily.
Rim choice is a furphy, plenty of choice in 100x4.
If you are tracking a big hp car, with big sticky tyres, then 5-stud hubs are the go, the yanks have reported hub failures which to me are pretty clearly due to fatigue - 114x5 should cure that.
I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

Re: NA 4x114.3 Hub Conversion
i've had 3 sets of Work Miesters (buying my forth set now - 16's just to see what they will look like on a NA)
A set of Work VS-KF
and currently have a set of Equip 02s
All my wheels have been low or neg offsets in and minimum of 7.5" wide.
The wheels are out there but you have to be prepared to wait and to find exactly what you want.
4x114.3 & 5x114.3 are plentiful because of all the Skylines and Silvia's, 180sx, EVOs etc..

Looks like you will be a pioneer on this conversion, if replies here are any guide.
Please keep us posted on your progress, this will be very interesting.

Re: NA 4x114.3 Hub Conversion
Yep, some decent wheels do exist in 4x100 as well as 4x114.3 (Mk1, Mk2, Mk3, some mesh, Hayashi streets etc) but the options are VERY limited. Would rather not have to trawl through yahoo auctions every day for six months trying to find wheels I like in sizes I want to run (14", minimum 8j wide, negative offsets). 4x114.3 is a whole world apart when it comes to proper wheel choice, 4x100 is a bit of a joke.
Will have a bit of a poke around to see if someone would have a front and rear NA hub they would lend me to take measurements from. If I can get dimensions I'll approach a machine shop to see how stupidly expensive some billet 4x114.3 hubs would be.
