I went there at lunch time today and got myself one.

Yes, they are the hybrid steel/aluminium version and they are rated at 1800Kg and not the 1500Kg that I originally stated.

And, there is still 1.9 pallets worth left.

Drats. I have been chasing one of the old ones as they're a bit lower. Let me know what you think of it.

I got an Orcan 2000kg quick lift low profile jack from Autobarn about a month ago for $169, standard price. I had measured everything beforehand so I knew it would fit but what I failed to consider was room to pump the handle. I ended up making 4 timber ramps to raise the car about 50 mm. No probs now & I can get the car almost 500mm off the ground in 5 or 6 pumps.

Does Costco provide any online information on what they stock so that you know it is worthwhile being a member? How else do you know what they have, and how would I be able to compare the trolley jack to anything else before trucking out to the local store?

G, my girlfriend went out to the store and you can wonder around without a membership to see if it's worth it. She wasn't that impressed. Most of the expensive electronic stuff we had gotten cheaper through jb or the good guys.

You would not be a Costco member just to buy a few items. For big families or people sharing items there are some really good buys. Quite an amazing place but a lot of it is bulk.

Low profile jack.jpg
It works for me - except for my laptop seeing pics upside down so I turn 'em the right way up but they seem to appear here upside down again.

I picked up a one of the jacks stocked by Costco. I'm very happy with it for the price. Significantly less than they are being resold on Ebay for!
