Stefan the SE

Postby two40 » Mon Oct 06, 2014 12:18 pm

A couple of years ago I sold my SE and have missed it ever since. I had planned on buying a running 240Z for a weekender but what I ended up with is far far far from a running car. So, I have taken on a long term restoration project of a 240Z and I wanted something fun and reliable for the time being. Nothing fits the bill better than another MX5 and while I was searching for an NB8B this SE popped up which was too good to pass up. A short flight to the Gold Coast and a long drive later and I'm the owner of another SE.

Meet Stefan

Thanks :)

I'll pop in to some. Don't think I can make as many as I used to though.

Last weekend I cornered my disinterested wife and explained some of the finer details of forced induction. This came in today and when I opened it she said, 'Oh, your coolernator arrived'.

At least she's listening with one ear.

I considered calling mine Sylvester, because Sylvester the Sunlight Silver SE forms a nice aliteration. Still haven't settled on a name though.

The hairdresser of course. ;)

I put it up to a vote on Facebook and Stefan won. The funny thing is the guy that chose the name actually has a local hairdresser by that name! Dripping with irony.

More irony is that the previous owner is named Steven.

I also like to call him Phteven. (no implied comparison meant to previous owner)

Not that you can tell from this photo but the coolernator is in. Was a real pain to install - 28" is a little too wide if you ask me! The power steering lines were in the way a fair bit and needed a good stern talking to to move out of the way.
