This is a place for a good laugh and cringe worthy nods. I got this car purely for the turbo/ecu setup. P the rest is all messed up.

Random coolant hose hidden away

Today I degreased the underside of the car, pulled out more wiring and fixed a few leaks. This is what I've had to deal with!

After a bit of a clean

Fuel tank developed a leak so drained tank, sanded back and applied jb weld. I'll leave it two days before adding fuel. Hopefully it holds well enough.

So put in a few more hours work over the last few days.

Did a small rust repair on the rear.

Replaced the hid lights for halogen h4 hella units.

Replaced auxiliary belt

Installed dimmer, removed and polished dash and replaced lights in it as someone had removed them..So instead of installing a dimmer, installed a scrappy light plugged into the cigarette lighter....

Almost ready to be handed over to dad to drive now it won't just fall apart or die... You get what you pay for...

A bit has happened since posting here. Dad got his first speeding fine in it, only 5k over but only took him a few weeks! enjoys it but doesn't know the limits of grip so drives it very sensibly. Fixed up a few more things but it's time to ruin all the fun and remove the turbo setup and replace with some nice sensible headers and intake. Still chasing a front bar for it too, if anyone has any leads.

Looking good. Very nice of you to fix up for your dad.

Coolant hose may have been attached due to failure of the rubber nipple near the coolant sensor at the back of the engine. Suspect it has a bolt in it.

Yeah that's my guess too. This arvo I swapped over the injectors, plugged in afm and my ecu and fired right away. Extremely noisy with no exhaust after headers but sounded pretty tough! Need to block hole from oil drain, cut hole in firewall for intake and install arc chamber/intake properly and then hopefully drive the 1km to the exhaust shop for an extension on the cat back as the new headers are shorter than previous ones. Then to get mine running and fix the rear damage up.
