NB8A won't start. Cranks + spark all good
Help! I have an issue with my NB8A which won't start. Has been running fine until yesterday. NRMA squirted some fuel into the intake manifold and it starts. Picked up a new fuel pump from mania, just fitted but still won't start. Cranks, got spark and plenty of fuel. Any ideas anyone?

So when NRMA adds fuel it does start and when they don't add fuel it doesn't start. Is that what you're saying? Does that tell us something?

I think what Manga is trying to say is,
where have you checked fuel is coming out?
Have you checked rail, injectors? If you say adding fuel to intake makes it start, but also say plenty of fuel. The pump may work, but the fuel is stopping somewhere along the line.

Re: NB8A won't start. Cranks + spark all good
I had this recently, was a random fault, just turned over but wouldn't start, could smell fuel so I knew it was most likely electrical. After a bit of research I narrowed it down to the cam position sensor may be faulty. Ordered one from Mania and installed it in 5 minutes, car now starts every time. Was only $70 or so and they are a relatively common fault, so I figured that it would fail eventually anyway and so I just bought one. Worth a try if you can spare the $$$.
