Driver Weight Loss ...

There is a solid 20 kg of weigh loss potential in the driver but all the weight
is in my belly which has a low center of gravity ;)

I like good food too much, and the standard of home cooking is very good.
But that would be for my belly build thread though and the world
has more enough food blogs already.

I am happy with the 175 rwkw I have at present, another 5-10 rwkw running E85 for the taking.
making around 275 bhp / 210 kw at the flywheel (assuming 20% drivetrain loss) so that would
be around 115 bhp per litre the Ferrari 458 Italia which is the current N/A benchmark
makes 124 bhp per litre which I could exceed easily with swallowing some bigger CAMS
the super cheater part on an iVTEC engine is continuously variable intake cam timing so
"giant" cams aren't all that lumpy and the idle is still pretty smooth.

Will find out for sure on Monday when the Emissions test is completed but this sort of spec
should still be completely legal emissions wise and returns 6.x Litres on the highway for the
Economy nerds out there.

N/A Upper regions for K24 is a proven 240+ rwkw moving up to 9000 rpm
this is 380+ bhp at the Flywheel or more than a 6.0 Litre Chevy makes
at 150+ bhp per litre we are now in the region of 2.0 litre super tourers of the 90's.
this spec won't last an eternity obviously. I would actually be more afraid for the Mazda Gearbox

Supercharged Upper limit would be 370 rwkw I would need a 6 pack of Mazda Gearboxes
and likely just crash into a wall anyway that level of power is not really tame-able by me.

There is a Mad Bastard with a 2.7 Stroked K Series he has just finished a Twin Supercharged
version making nuts power 450+ kw he has this engine in an Ariel Atom and Is in Australia

To Supercharge ?

58.9 seconds lap of Wakefield in a Wrong wheel drive knuckle dragger.

370+ fwkw is what this car makes with a Supercharged K24

Not even finished the build and already thinking of just adding a Rotrex, then it needs a new gearbox and more.

For anyone wondering about the car it got neglected last two weeks for this time attack stuff, and is getting
it's bushes, suspension, diff and brakes fitted.

Should get more footage and numbers to see how well she goes soon.

I think "catch cans" are for the Blow By this is the Reservoir it is 7 litres total capacity.

You can buy a decent SE engine bay for the cost of a custom dry sump, will only appreciate
it, if I can get the car to corner at +1.0 g without issue, even without the fitment issues
since the iVTEC system is Oil Pressure regulated it's good to have a dry sump for a track car.

A number of things all happened in a very unlikely and lucky order leading to decision to put this Engine Swap Package into my old race car.

1) Sold the Engine out of My Racecar only took 2 years. [Chris should make this shine in MX5 Cup]
2) Had taken K Engine out to upgrade Pistons,Cams,Valvetrain
3) Someone was begging for a NB8B with no Engine [Richard will end up with a Bitchin Street/Track car]
4) E85 tune in racecar another 10 rwkw run a bit cooler
5) NB8B felt heavy compared to racecar, I have the 6 Speed and NB8B ABS brakes on it anyway.
6) Can run some big cat flap rear aero wider than the car.
7) Racecar should go very close to 850 kg with 200 rwkw and 8200 rpm to play with

But probably the most decisive factor was how much fun I had doing the Phillip Island 6 Hour Relay
235+ kph down the straight with Zero aero and 1200 kg wet race weight, after one of the
safety car restarts I overtook about 30 cars in about two laps just effortless power delivery,
I was able to be playful letting Torana,Mustang,Porsche,EVO,BMW past in the corners
just so I could overtake them on the straights which is a nice change for a naturally aspirated MX5
it's an engine package that begs to be dríven hard and raced :)

For comparison my 135 rwkw NA8 could only manage a VMAX of 215 kph at Bathurst downhill wind assisted,
this may have been partly bad aero and average driver but more power would have been nice I was thinking

NA8 has a PB at Wakefield of
1:11.0 with 85 rwkw
1:08.00 with 135 rwkw
1:0?.?? with around 200 rwkw and dropping another 30 kg from car.

Will have some nice go fast bits for sale, will post soon and start a new thread for the Race Car.

First Run for the Much Abused shell I used to Call WHITEY, I am referring to her as WONDA now.

1.06.92 at Wakefield Park Yesterday unfortunately in a Circuit Club Passenger session so it's not on Natsoft.

Time done on some old Hankook 214's that have seen better days.

Stage 2 CAMS and a few other internal Modification we now making an easy 185+ rwkw and car about 900 kg
We lowered the Soft cut to 8,000 to try and preserve gearboxes basically this engine revs so hard
we can't really use a Mazda 6 Speed Gearbag anymore as the Synchros just can't keep up and trouble
selecting third even in a straight line.

Next steps are
- E85 tune
- S2000 Gearbox swap, Rev Limit back to 8,400 :)
- some Cat Flaps (a big rear wing)
- swap from the Welded Spool back to the 4.1 KAAZ diff
- wire up the Hondata traction control to tame the wheelspin some

There is easy 1:05 potential aim is to be fastest 4 pot Naturally Aspirated MX5
I have to say it's a such a blast to drive and sounds so much crisper than my last engine.

It's so nice to just blast past Lotus Exige (Supercharged),BMW 135i (Turbo),R34 GTR (Twin Turbo),VE Racecar (V8) etc like
they are standing still it's something every MX5 driver should get to experience :)

Good news, especially your grand plan to be the fastest 4 pot Naturally Aspirated MX5, however it is with a non MX5 engine :)

I'm interested to see the increase when you go to E85!

Likely only 3 - 5 rwkw gain on E85 but will allow for slightly cooler running as well which
will be nice when I do some running in December and January.

Will probably add an oil cooler as well with a view to doing some of kitchen sink
endurance races next year.
