Work in progress though have been compiling a list of prices, weights and dimensions of a lot of race seats.. hope it may help some people with their choices.

Any comments on the comfiest bucket that fits with no fouling. I'm a little bit off buying one, but thought I'd just find out now on a current thread. I don't want to cut it to fit. So what seats go in that don't hit anything, and from them, which would be the most comfy?

I rate the Sparco Sprint V as comfortable but it is a little more upright than some seats.
I am 6'3" so all the extra room I can find works well for me.
The longest drive I have done in this seat is to Wakefield and it was good for me but I have no comparison to other race seats.
I liked the Cobra seats as the material seems more robust but there seem to be issues fitting them into the car, certainly on the factory rails.
You should have a sit in a few to see what you like.

From my extensive research (my spreadsheet has grown considerably -link below). It seems the best small seats for the miata as far as FIA and sizing goes are the

Cobra Racer Pro

and the Bride EXAS III

Budget choice is the Bimarco Dakar.

I believe you'll find that whilst it is built to FIA standards it isn't specifically FIA certified. It's still a great seat though!

Anybody try one of these: Cobra Evolution Diolen Standard? I sat in one, I think it was this model, it was a tight fit and that suggested it might fit in my NB.

My favourite was the Velo Milano. Much nicer to sit in over the Sparco's square everything. It will need minor trimming if you bolt it to the floor sans rails.
This is a seat I am building now. It seems very comfy. Will see when it's finished and in use.

Hey Lightyear. How much trimming was involved to fit the Velo Milano? Where was it fowling? (NA/NB?)

I had it mounted as far back and low as it could go. Bolted directly to the floor. The front left needed 10mm trimmed off. Hit the tunnel. You could always massage the tunnel with a hammer, but it didn't cross my mind at the time. And the top right shoulder was hard up against the car.

The base might fit but the shoulder and wings would likely hit the door or you would need to run sans window.
