It is perfectly safe to trolley jack the rear of the car under the diff housing (with a rag)? I'm a bit wary. It will balance OK.
Can you put axle stands under the rear driveshafts? They seem a bit thin.

Same with the front? Jacking the front under the crossmember (behind the sump)? Front driveshafts are even smaller.

jacking from the diff is fine, assuming the car is on level ground.

As for stands, don't use the driveshafts, put them either on the sills, or if you need the suspension loaded for whatever reason, put the stands under the knuckles.

Not sure what you mean by front driveshafts? there aren't any? (unless you meant the hubs?)

OK.
Trying to change gbox oil with only 2 stands and a sloping driveway.
Thinking I should point the car up the slope and put the rear on stands. Thus the gbpx should be levellish.
It's only a gentle slope and I should chock the front wheels.

You should not have stands on anything but a flat surface.
