should just paint the wheel spokes red ;)

That's what I thought, but I'm not going to stifle James' creativity/madness - this thread is like watching one of those movies where you have no idea what's going to happen next.

If you end up peeling back some of the plasti-dip to redo it, can you please get some shots of what it looks like?

eg. Does it come off in big strips or does it flex too much and end up coming off in small messy "bites".

Also interested to know what the paint looks like underneath. I know that Billy Bunter's red stripes left a pink stain on his white bonnet and that some red plasti-dipped rims get left with a pink tinge when removed so would like to know if your Velocity Red ends up with a blackish stain.

soooo update! been busy( or lazy) and not posted anything this week.

thanks so much "Pezchops" for the resistor that goes in my airbag plug! annoyed i couldnt thankyou in person but ill see u round hopefully!

and my cans arived! had a 3 day weekend to paint sebo. sat+sun= rain all day. so monday started sunny and i prepped. tapped up lights( i didnt need to last time, but i have different plastidip coloured lights at the back and eye lids on the front), tapped and newspapered most of the softtop and wast rim. then as im about to paint the sky looks dark and it gets windy. so i put a tarp over it all and waited till after work tuesday. 6 cans, going over the old 15monthish job, imo looks so much better. doesnt look like a 3k respray but for 100 bucks im pretty darn happy with how it turned out. im going to redo the taillights, they are currently "smoke" plastidip. they look sh1t now. gonna dump a few pics.
first some pics from before.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

The gap between your bonnet and front bumper should look more like this:
Image

- rather than this:
Image

Your front bumper is actually sitting on the inside edges of the headlights, causing the bumper to be pushed forwards and upwards - hence the larger gap.

Not sure if there's a reason for this due to any mods, if not, you should re-fit it to close the gap.
When you fit the front bumper, angle it at 45* downwards to ensure those "bumper corners" near the inside edge of the headlights slide BEHIND them; when you clip it in place it should then look like the top phot and the gap will be much narrower.

there was a group buy and i got one for an SE , dont know much more about it haha, its functional though as aposed to the "style" one which was offered.

and simon, yea bumber is hanging down in that shot, when i damaged the front it broke a clip or something or bracket
i used to zip tie it on and it was just like stock but i just leave it to the "home made elastic quickrelease" to keep it on. also the angle makes it look worse haha.
