More concerned that it doesn't idle coming off the track at the end of a session which indicates to me that it's got to or over 70 and is therefore losing power.

You can't assume that without seeing a log of the session. I used to see air temps go from 40 deg on the track to 70 at the pits. But my self tuned engine idled fine when first cold and when that hot. Tune is crap

Listen to gslender. You can't assume it's likely intake temps are fine until it hear soaks.
Connect the laptop and go for a drive and see what your intake temps do.
Anything else is just spending money on a hope and a prayer.

Don't worry, I am listening and will download the software and connect the laptop tomorrow. Will speak to Matt at Haltech on Monday for his recommendation on who can sort the tune.
Also spending some time tomorrow on the brake ducting with maybe a T to the air intake. Yes, I do realise air intake temps are a separate issue to the tune being unable to control idle at 70 degree intake temps.
Thanks for all the advice on what seems to be a fascinating subject. Once again, it's so frustrating that I'm having to find out how to guide people who have presented themselves to me as experts, or to start again when they simply fail.

Sometimes the best way to solve a problem is to restart and rethink. Another way is use legal critical thinking or ILAC which is issue, law, application and conclusion. The hardest part is getting to the real issue once you have that the rest is easy.
When I was doing my car there was so much information and disinformation. Even the recommendations given by Jason at Plus I would research. However I must admit that when it came to the ECU I left it with Jason. My logic was that GT Auto has a very good reputation, Danny's company has a strategic relationship with them so why should I not trust them. I have not been disappointed with the ECU or any aspect of the build. By the same token Jason has learnt as well and I believe he is enjoying his role at Plus.
Just keep asking questions, but due diligence on the answers would not go astray.
Anything you can do to reduce air intake and brake temps will be worth it in the long run.

Sadly I missed Critical Path Analysis at uni - nah, strike that, it hadn't been invented.
I acknowledge the biggest challenge has been going with people who say they're experts, only to find they're not, then not having a fall back option.

My job involves so much critical path analysis it is second nature. Nothing like a delay claim that involves acceleration, multiple critical paths and a contractor trying to hide that the delays are its fault because of lack of resources

Downloaded software. Connected to the ECU's USB cable. Started motor. Pressed all buttons in software but can't start it logging. What am I missing?

Wow, I must say the customer support and help on that forum is woeful. Heaps of posts asking for help and no responses. Doesn't look good and would be a worry if someone intended buying one and doing it yourself. All great to have tuners etc, but if they are crap, don't care or too busy.... you're really screwed!

From memory you need to tap F11. Ring Jason at Plus and ask how to connect

Computer recognises ECU when connected by USB. ECU does not show up as a drive on the computer though. Neither F11 nor any other F button changes any of this.
