This may sound crazy. but anyone used an old fuel injector as a boost solenoid?

96-97 NA8 used a 16 bit ECU as opposed to the 8 bit ECU for 93-95 NA8.
MSPNP is available for 96-97 NA8 according to DIYAutoTune:
http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/mega ... p-515.html

http://www.diyautotune.com/diypnp/apps/ ... bp-mt.html

However, my understanding is that there were some differences between the 96-97 USDM ECU & the 96-97 ADM ECU, as Mossy had some issues when fitting his coldside MP62 SC kit to his 96 NA8:

HI guys,

I have a weird small issue with my MS2.

At idle my Timing reads 8.5 degrees.
My Timing Map is demanding 16 degrees.

As soon as i touch the throttle it jumps to the demanded amount.

Is it something stupid that i am missing here?

I have attached a log to show along with my MSQ.

LOG

Any help much appreciated!!

You've got idle adaptive advance control on - which is advance is adjusted up or down based on RPM delta to the target RPM curve.

Also, your ecu is running a mod of the released firmware that I wrote pre-3.3alpha5 - since then, the developers of MS2/MS3 have updated the MS2 firmware (now 3.3.2) and this has better/different set of features.

Thanks Grant.
That makes sense.
I think i have found it.

This is what it was set to.

I have just set all the values to 0 now.

I assume this will now just read from the Ign Map?

In regards to the firmware can i just download it and then flash it to the MS?
(Coilpack disconnected)

Oh and just for clarity i need to select Microsquirt for the firmware correct?
Sorry for the hassle. It has just been awhile since i have played with this stuff and i am a bit rusty.

Thanks for your help mate.
Now that i own this car again i have been sorting out all the little niggles.

You were correct G!

Idle is now following the IGN Map.

I am going to work on idle today.
It does idle but with no idle control turned on.

I would like to set it up so that IAC at least raises the idle on cold start and when electrical load is present.

I have done this before but it was quite a while ago.
Hopefully no dramas.

One other question, with say 272 cams would you expect the idle to only pull around 55kpa or should i be able to get lower?

Use the PWM Warmup algorithm - you then just set the steps/pwm % for various CLT temps... so for cold open more, for hot, close etc... plus you can set IAC open a little more for better cold start etc (as it often needs a bit of extra air with all the fuel sticking and being dumped in etc)

Sounds about right. Overlap is the killer to idle, so if you've got adj cams, the more you add overlap the more idle will suffer. Nothing you can do other than raise idle speed and add lots of fuel and advance to dampen the lumpy rpm

Quick question.
I can not seem to find a definitive answer as to what the dead time values are for stock 1.6 injectors?

Any help much appreciated.

Another question for anyone who is bored

Just checking a small LOG file from a uphill 2nd gear pull, does my Voltage look funny how unstable it is?

Image

The Voltage is the White Line in the middle chart.
How accurate would the MS2 Voltage reading be?

Could this be an issue or is that Fluctuation perfectly normal?
I expected to see like 14.2V with little deviation.
