I'm with you Andrew. I've also hinted to my kids to get me one for Fathers Day next year...fat chance.

I'm with you guys. The more I look at it, the more I love its proportions.

IMO its contemporary but still instantly recognisable as an MX-5. Even its rear end is starting to grow on me (Although I still think the round light clusters are too in-board).

But for me, I like it's side profile the best. It just oozes charisma and sex appeal.

Now the question is.... "How well will the ND with its sharper lines age. Will it be timeless like the NA?". I guess only time will tell.

Did anyone watch the jap release?
With the white version just sitting off centre stage.
Looks so so so tough in white, really can't wait for pricing to be released.

Allan, the question is now, do you sell the clubman or the SP and buy an ND or do you have all 3.
Don't even think about selling the SP. Although I would be lying if this hasn't crossed my mind more then once.

Have to agree with you both, in a light colour, white or silver, it looks pretty good.
Still I can't help but want to see it in a Titanium grey too, but I've go a bit of a bias for that colour......

Hold on to yr hats cowboys, the BIG news is that the ND will come in at....

"NEAR OZ $30,000, MAKING IT $15,000 LESS THAN EQUIV NC AND CLOSE TO WHAT THE NA DEBUTED AT" !!!!

oK expect a povo spec 1.5. but there are no competitors until the 86 cuts its lid off.

and maybe the tie up with FIAT has produced this but

woo hoo!!!

Journos Oz and overseas, see today's fish and chip wrapper. Expect a US $25k entry.

Haha. I was thinking the same thing, Richard. But I definitely won't be swapping neither my Clubman nor SP for it. But still, this probably is the first MX-5 that I'll consider buying straight away, rather than wait for the updated or facelifted model of the same generation (ie. the NA8, NB8B, NC2 etc).

The current MX5 starts at 25K-ish in the USA. So i think they are saying the don't expect a price rise off any significance (in the USA).
The Subaru BRZ starts from about the same price in the USA.

You might see a low spec ND priced around the same as a 86GTS - 36K + ORC

Yeah sure. Just check out Jay Leno's garage for US price of the lastest 2014 fully optioned Jaguar F-Type - it's around USD100K (video @7.03) - same car here in the Land of Oz... about AUD$250+K - explain that to a bunch of high school maths students... or if you're up for a challenge to MX5 owners when the ND hits our shores.

The ND will be a smidge under AUD$50K prior to options. Average buy price around AUD55k-57.5k - I reckon, anyway.

I suspect we'll see two versions land here in OZ......

- A 1.5 litre basic version for around the $40K mark on the road which you can add options to.
- and a 2.0 litre version with all the fruit for $50K+ on the road.
