Re: ND debuts tomorrow 3rd Sep
There's some mixed reviews but I think Mazda done a great job. Looks really really good IMO, a bit sad that the engine bump in the bonnet is no longer but other then that I love it, looks great. Keen to see what engine it gets (hopefully the 2.0 or 2.5 skyactiv out of the 3) how much it weighs and the price. Cant wait to see one in the flesh.

No engine bay shots or anything like that. Mazda were keen to guard things like that as they're yet to release things like engine details.
It's definitely smaller, or rather shorter. It looks just as wide but a lot shorter and lower.

Official specs say 105mm shorter and 15mm wider than NC. Most of the length was lost from the overhangs, wheel base is only a few mm shorter.

So the Mazda gaping frog mouth continues.
Looks like a Z4, very similar. Except for the mouth.

* Larger headlights
* Traditional NA/NB bonnet "engine bump"
* Smaller mouth
* Titanium version
I'm with lokiel on this, although I do like the red.
Maybe we will get used to the small headlights in time... Oh and I'm not a fan of the black windscreen, that should be body colour, same with the mirrors!
Makes the nc look like a fat ugly sister with no purpose.

^ that's a bit harsh.
I think they did a good job with the looks - I like it.
Oooo, the yellow looks great. Might be a better hero color for ND than the red.

Hey DkHd, lots of influences here not just BMW
Worst part for me is the sad clown rear face but let's see it in the flesh first.

Re: ND debuts tomorrow 3rd Sep
First impressions clicking on the pic links from the Mazda email in my inbox when I got home from work:-
Clicking through the pics - Honda S2000 - Corvette - BMW Z4 - Alfa 2 seater (can't remember model)
All these went through my mind looking at the pics - I see bits of all of these depending on the viewing angle (also - obviously - see lots of MX-5 in there too).
Actually not unhappy with the comparisons - all the "bits" I see are actually the good bits from those cars - and interesting that one car can seem like a combination of many different ones.
Will be interesting to see it in the "flesh".
Really - the most important thing will be - what is it like to drive? Can feel a test drive coming up for sure.

I really like the front wheel arch humps that protrudes into the bonnet. In some angles it reminds me of the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta.
The rear.... ehhh, I can take it or leave it. But love the looks' new direction overall. Though I'm not sure if I'll feel the same way in 20 years time. It might not age as well as the NA or NB.
