They probably don't have a US spec (side marker lights etc) available yet.
Could the display car be the 1.5L model?

Gawd, someone here is going to wet their pants and rub their hands with glee........
I've got no idea of release schedules. Does that say they're going to produce just RHDs initially and sell them like the first time, in Japan and Australia first?rjastra2 wrote:manga_blue wrote:Wonder why they launched RHD in California?

And are they 15s ?
It promises to be even more fun to drive as Mazda has followed the lead of Toyota by reducing grip with the show car riding on smaller 16-inch wheels and skinnier rubber with 195/50 R16 tyres.
Mazda has yet to confirm whether it will match the original MX-5's 940kg kerb weight, but has said the new car is "more than 100kg" lighter than the current model which weighs 1167kg with its metal folding hard top roof.
To save weight the new car will only be available as a soft-top intitally. However, Mazda has indicated that a hard-top variant - either a folding metal roof or something different, such as a Targa roof - are possible in the near future. But a coupe version is not expected, at least in the foreseeable future.

No DRLs in the marketing images but they're present in the US reveal car, down in the lower front bumper openings where you would expect to find fog lights.
not particularly fond of the implementation......
