Re: Emily's 04 VR SE
To clean the wrinkle finish, I used a mild degreaser and a soft brush on my Integra, and have also used some turps. That may leave a turn it a little white-ish but a light mist of good ol' silicon spray (or Armour All) returns it to normal.

Oil filter was done at the mechanic, because how the actual ƒü¢k are you supposed to get at it, with the catch can oil drain and the inlet mani brace in the way.

I see an oil filter relocation kit in your future...
.. they're a pain in the arse to fit but every oil change after you do it, you'll swear it was worth the effort.

It was actually 8 months
My fault for not checking the legality in NSW, and for staying on red Ps for 2 years.
I had a couple of other mx5s in the waiting time though so its ok

Stubby 60* Aerial
You all know how much I hate the oem fixed / retractable aerials. Which is a lot. One of the first mods I did to the brg na6 was a stubby antenna from mx5 parts uk. I figured the SE looks kinda sporty and aggressive, so could pull off a slightly more angled unit.
So I conducted a group buy and ended up with 20 people!
I will be bringing these in in bulk soon so PM me if you're interested
Finished product!
Fitting is very easy.
Here are all the oem parts that were removed vs. the replacement.
I decided I am going to try to cut the minimum amount of wires on the car's loom, which meant I had to find a plug to solder on to the stubby aerial.
Seeing as my original unit was broken and didnt retract fully anyway, I would cut the female plug out of it. First SE related Dremel use haha.
Replacement aerial power wire soldered to the pin that receives 12v for the oem aerial.
Looks really nice from any angle.
P.S. Check out the tail lights

Just started detailing my engine bay today, found a mild spray on degreaser + light gurney blast worked very well.
Made sure I spent quite a bit of time with the blower nozzle from the air compressor to dry everything out before starting the engine though.......

Bit hard to see from the pics but it seems you still have the factory intake there, weren't you getting a CAI fitted?

Will do more on the tail lights soon
lol gurney is not going anywhere near my engine bay, i'll take bits out as needed to clean/polish/repaint.
Intake did not happen unfortunately, not sure why.
I have put a pod on, normally the worst mod, but holy hell it made a difference on this car!

Nothing wrong with using said beastie in the engine bay (can be very effective for hard to reach spots) you just need to be sensible about you go about it.

What's with the rubber bits on the rear bumper where you'd normally have a mudguard?

Re: Emily's 04 VR SE
I think to meet certain design rules, more of the wheel needed to be inside the guard so they added those bits.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

How have you set that up? Did you remove the entire factory airbox and intake pipe?
Got a pic?

Funny little rear spats are an SE thing, they look a lot like the Garage Vary item.
