Demographically dríven choice, for sure.
Why do they need a band anyway? Why not a racing driver? Why not someone like Jeremy Clarkson? Jason Plato?

BAH! What's wrong with going with the classic hot+skanky chicks draped all over the car?

Maybe they'll combine the two with some "Girls on Film"?

If I get an invite to this, my first stop will be to the Rock merchandising stand, "Three round ones. two sharpish ones and a bag of gravel for the boy.
The Spice Girls? personally I found them all Scary.

Skyactive sound,
Under a ton we want from you!
Squealing tyres sound, and lost in their cloud,
and i'm Hungry like a cardigan.
Ignore NB lines, would be a crime,
Four cup holders or just two?
Tweed cap with gloves of twine,
and i'm Hungry like a cardigan.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Nice, Dave. It sort of gets me though that after years of development, deals off and on with Fiat, micro attention to handling and weight, talk of commitment to the original intent that the bloody marketing department comes out with a launch that targets that age bracket.   They should be going at 20-30 somethings if they want to keep an icon.

I'm not sure...

When the 86 came out I saw 4 clear markets, those who wanted a cheap "drivers car", those who were caught up with marketing hype (so they could be a real life Takumi without needing to work on an old corolla) , those who wanted a modern celica and the mid life crisis crowd (wanted a cool car but partner wouldn't let them buy a WRX/Evo).

But the more global media bangs their drum about hoons it tarnishes any marque targeted at younger drivers and I think it scares off the other 3 markets (same could be said about the WRX).

As much as I want everyone to appreciate the new MX-5 I think Mazda realise the glut of babyboomers have disposable retirement cash and will continue to get their car serviced at a dealership.

For the MX5 surely it would be better for a couple of buff semi-naked blokes to be draped over the car ;)

Yeah but not everyone likes to drive stick, some prefer flappy paddles.
