Makes it hard to know fact from fiction when he explains himself this way.

I just pay the invoices. One of the boys at work. Company car. Excessive imo.

Next MX5 Club of NSW track day is at Wakefield Park on Monday 8 Sept, although we are hosting a CAMS SuperSprint round on the Sunday as well. Visitors welcome - come and have a look. Otherwise there's a driver training (i.e. racecraft) day at Marulan on 26th Oct and a few more track days later in the year.

On a safe track you can go harder than you'd ever dream of doing on a public road with 0% chance of being booked. Track experience usually makes anything you do a public road feel very tame and stupidly risky.

Thats also an enforcement notice, not a speeding fine. Which means the speeding fine wasn't paid and so they slapped you with an even bigger fine.

Company car. I don't speed anyway. Will keep the Club run in mind.

feeling a bit down at the moment, just got a $1300 fine.

Dupain I have tried to help you in the background, however I'm losing my ability to defend you or think of you as a rational human being.

You can't post your speed on a public forum as you just got a $1,300 fine. This implies that you were caught speeding! However this is not the truth you were speeding and not caught rather you have to pay a speeding fine that is not yours because you have a job that pays the bills.

Dupain wrote:Company car. I don't speed anyway. Will keep the Club run in mind.

I refer to your "Can't post it on a public forum but on the topic ..." so where is the truth? Like the first casualty of war is the truth, when Dupain speaks truth suffers...

From my son's recent experience of exceeding the posted speed limit by 100 kmh it is loss of licence for 12 months and $2,000 fine and yes he was an idiot and he knows it.

Speeding on a public road is stupid, saying that you can't say is even worse. However with your posts it is hard to filter the hay from the chaff (i wanted to use other words) so I find it difficult to take you seriously anymore. It also does not help with the drawing of long bows or the shotgun approach. If you are a troll, be proud of it, announce it to the world so that you can be treated accordingly. If you are serious then don't have other people have to fill the gaps themselves, make considered/informed posts.

I have found some empirical evidence on exhaust tuned lengths however it seems pointless to post it now, what will it achieve?

In QLD fines on company cars car are multiplied by 3? Unless the driver owns up and takes the points. Would maybe explain the high price?

I think magpie said the rest.

Magpie. There's an accepted 20% tollerence on the lengths from what I gathered. With the fine, I said I've got a fine to pay and again people who don't know think its bs. Not my problem. Think it's 5x down here. I'm not going to start a witch hunt, first one in 15 years.

Oh the pain, I so did not want to respond.

If it was my business and some 'clerk' made the decision to pay a fine rather than the employee both individuals would not have jobs!

Snowmotion and Sailaholic thanks.

Dupain, for you I give the words of wisdom that my children know word for word "it is better to let people think your a fool than open your mouth and remove all doubt". Also have a nice day!

For the record and I'm not very proud of even saying it was son was caught in a 110 kmh zone, he is still an idiot and hence why I have his car in my garage.

I totally agree. But difficult to identify the driver. Delivery drivers are transient. Was for Chinese takeaway.

I need to stop feeding the troll, but....

If you are running a business that does not track drivers and or vehicles, especially if they are are transient, then the business will fail. What about insurance records, workers comp, copies of licences etc? Find out who had the vehicle at that time, pull their licence put the details on the fine and send it back!

I would expect to be sacked for saying that I'm too lazy to investigate so we will just pay 5 times the amount. I also dare say that the bills I approve are larger than what you have even seen, however I'm still held accountable down to the cent!

If the installer is "a mate" who'd rather not have his name / phone number on the forum then I'm calling it BS because no way any educated or experienced exhaust installer would call those headers tuned. Unless tuned = a specific less performance than stock.

Challenge laid down. Watch him ignore or squirm around it.

I suspect the mechanic may have said 'Tuned' in a sarcastic tone. Dupain doesn't really pick up sarcasm at the best of times.
