I doubt that would help. 4-1s seem to be very difficult to get right. Racing Beat has succeeded with a lot of testing and high standards of manufacture. From the photos you've posted of the CX ones the standard of manufacture looks like absolute shite and the whole design seems to be a cheap conversion from headers made for an east-west or right-side exhaust engined car. Hence the very bizarre inequalities of lengths in the primaries. Their main selling point seems to be an emphasis on bling over function. Using a large dump pipe would exacerbate the difficulties in getting rid of peakiness in 4-1s. I just can't see how putting a strangler plate on an oversized dump pipe would do anything but make them worse.
As a general comment, if you're buying parts to be installed by others then you need better made, more precisely dimensioned components than you'd put in yourself. Otherwise you burn all your savings and much more on paying the mechanic to bend/grind/weld/cobble things up to make them fit.

Manga has answered for me. RB for 4-1.
Did you consider cutting a hole in you bonnet and just have 4 single straight pipes . Would look sic with 4 strangle plates and be sure to give you more noise.

CES I believe make the exhausts for Garry Stewart race motors in QLD. Having said that your talking about the same price as the maxim works ones with VERY long primaries (compared to most off the shelf versions) and they are fitted to motors that see 1 or maybe 2 seasons before a rebuild.
