That's most likely true for a brass tee, but not a problem with a steel hydraulic fitting.

What kit did you buy mate? I have been researching them after I did first oil change a few weeks ago and find out it is a royal pain in the ass to change. But I have read some kits are terrible to fit and leak a bit. How is yours?

That pretty much sums it up!

After the fourth attempt to re-fit it, it seems ok for the moment......

If it starts leaking again I'll probably bin it and get the Thompson kit from the US that's specifically made for the NB.
It's not cheap and only has the one sensor port but you need to have faith in the integrity of your oil system.

I just had a thought (rare as it is), is there any reason I cannot have a filter relocation kit and an oil sandwich plate underneath relocation kit base? That way I can have any sensor I want, including the factory one too.

- Factory sensor is separate from the filter base and not affected by any relocation kit or sandwich plate.
- If the relocation kit has 2 ports fitted, why would you need any more?
- Most sandwich plates have 2 ports fitted -> you could then get a relocation kit without ports.
- Sandwich plate + relocation kit = lots of potential leak sources.....

- Probably not enough room between the block and the frame rail for both to allow for hose routing.

Just some random thoughts. :wink:

Lol, yeah forgot about the factory sensor being where it was. I am going off the assumption that maybe some of the better kits don't come with enough ports for sensors.
I think I will have to look harder.

Ed, how big is your sensor, in the cylinder head at the rear on the r/h side there is an allen head plug, guess what, that goes into the oil gallery. Thats where i run my idiot light sensor for the led on the dash.

TBRO- Would you know off hand what size the thread is in the hole on the back of the head?
I'm just trying to figure out if I will need to retap or drill anything into the head.
