$30 for an oil change. if you keep puting cheap sh!te oil in it. is will cost more than $30 in the long term.

And it's fine, have used it previously in all my Honda's including the K series

Lol why the hate for Castrol magnatec, it's a decent oil, agree it's no Penrite but it's not sh*t either...

Oils aint oils... it is a can of worms!

If it works for you then I say go for it.

Personally I only use HKS Super Racing 10w55 oil http://www.hks-power.co.jp/en/product/oil/super_racing/index.html

Had a look. Magnatec is up to SN ratings now so it's getting better. Still not what I would run.

Proof if a good oil is not having run it for two oil changed and not siezed your engine. It can take a long time to find you you were wrong.

I should also have added that every time my car is serviced (after every track day) an oil sample is sent away. Therefore we have a history on what the oil is doing as well as how the engine is going.

Sample testing of oil is the best defence you can have as contaminants can be picked up quickly. Further it can also tell you how the oil is handling the conditions and if it is breaking down. The oil sample taken is compared to the oil used.

A bit extreme but I like it, how much for an oil analysis?

Nulon oils are getting raving reviews on other forums and google searches of late, any one using nulon?

But it's what I always used in the MX5.

And it's pretty fricking beautiful in there.

And over 400,000km old.

GTR4N the oil sampling is included in my service costs. The motor has had a few modifications and it was decided that the best protection (apart from gauges etc) was to do oil sampling.

Plus I come from a mining background where oil sampling is used to extend the life of major components. Instead of changing them at a certain SMU you allow the change out to be done by oil sample analysis. Plus you can use the data to extend your oil life.

Hopefully after a few more services we will have enough data to start stretching the servicing etc. So far between track days my car clocks up about 300km on the road, however since the last service I have done half that in 4 weeks :(

Next service 16/08.

Magpie. As I guess though oil sampling is more then a a cheap bottle of oil.
