25th Anniversary model.....best get in quick.
At the MX-5 Club of Victoria and Tasmania awards lunch on Sunday we were told that only 40 of the 25th Anniversary model are coming to Australia. Many dealers will not be getting any. If you want one, you had better start searching now.

These are the NC based ones, yeah?

They've got to be kidding. Cream seats and some wheel colour!
Do they throw in a new cardigan? What happened to all the good bits they used to add to earlier specials?

Bilsteins
'hand selected' pistons whatever that means
lightened flywheel
i reckon they are very cool, the black over Soul red looks fantastic. Good to see Mazda send off the NC with a bang not a whimper
yes i have a vested interest as we got 2 and still have one to sell!

Dues it really have a lightened flywheel and bilsteins?
How come the literature includes only references to fancy colour combinations and the good stuff isn't even mentioned on the site juffa linked?

It's a beautiful colour in the sunlight.
Most (not all) of the "special editions" in the past have just been a fancy colour and interior, possibly some bbs wheels etc. so it's pretty similar in that sense.
Don't know who would buy one when the ND is so close!

Mazda claims that its engineers selected "the best balanced premium parts for inclusion in the engine" and as a result, the inline four now "revs even more freely, delivering an extraordinary response, precision acceleration and a deeply satisfying engine note".

A company spokesperson confirmed to us that the 25th AE Miata’s 2.0-liter MZR engine is a blueprinted unit, built with internal components hand-selected by engineers. While Mazda isn’t divulging the exact tolerances, we’re led to believe variance across the MZR’s four pistons may be as little as thousandths of a gram. With a production run of roughly 1000 cars (100 for the US and 100 for Canada, with the remainder headed to European markets), a rep from motorsports says full-on bespoke motor assembly wasn’t feasible, but that “some of the engine” has been hand-built.

I wonder if that'll those hand built bits will be at all noticeable from behind the wheel.
The lightened flywheel would no doubt dominate the changed feel in the drive train.

I've purchased my one. Why you ask? To keep my 10th Anniversary company. Other than that, exclusivity, beauty and all that is MX5!
