Re: Ed's MX5
Went for first proper drive tonight. Drove to Palm beach. It was a little wet and the tyres need replacing,
but even through that.. WOW.

Re: Ed's MX5
So, after owning the car for 1 day.. I went out and spent lots of money on it
Mostly service gear, but all the best money can buy.
Here's what I bought.
Hope the photo works
Also have some diff oil already in garage that suits the other car.

Re: Ed's MX5
First two aesthetic mods, Hid headlights, and I found a nice old chrome gearknob I had in my toolbox that fitted straight on, feels great.
You can see the difference in colour between the stock yellow globes(horrible)
and the nice white hid globes(nice).

Re: Ed's MX5
Cheers, they are 6000k.
Kit is from Autotecnica. You deal with them at your place I'm pretty sure.
Part no: HIDS13
I used to run 8000k in the celica I had, they were a little too blue at times though.
I like these better, they look cleaner I think.
I'll take some night time photos tonight, so you can see the park lights as well.

Re: Ed's MX5
P.S,
there is a little bracket either side near guards that the ballast nicely slots into by pure chance.
If anyone wants to do same thing let me know and I'll take a photo showing where t fit it all to keep wiring tidy. If you didn't know already and looked in the engine bay you couldn't tell.

^interested in the spot, as I want the ballasts to be hidden.

Here is night time shot as best as my phone would take it. Nice cruise up to palm beach.
Even though the last shot looks really glarey, that's just my phone.
Driving the vision is excellent.

Re: Ed's MX5
Also changed out the fresh Nulon g/b fluid that locked me out of 2nd when cold.
Now I have REDLINE shockproof superlight in there. Much better. G/box still a bit notchy, not sure if they are all like that as I know some cars are always notchy. But at least I can change gears when the box is cold instead of double clutching all the time.
Also have a nice new head unit in now. Really happy with it.

Some new toys.
I don't have the gauge fascia yet, that's yet to arrive.
Here are my new gauges.
Oil pressure, Oil temp and Water temp.

Re: Ed's MX5
One of the bargaining tools when I bought my 5 was the failing exhaust.
I plan on getting a really good one at some point, but the rattling was really bothering me. So I pulled this out. Plus some piping that is off my brothers AU falcon when the muffler died on it, I cut off the piping as it was still good and made my spare muffler work. Sounds alright, still very quiet. A least it doesn't rattle.
