Piecing nb8b turbo kit

Postby MXO00V » Tue Jul 08, 2014 8:28 pm

OK so over the next 8 months or so I'm gonna start piecing a kit together for my NB8B just picking up stuff when they come up cheap through forums and Gumtree and what not the goal is over 160rwkw higher the better though lol
Was thinking
GT2860RS or GT2560R?
550 or 700cc injectors?
Custom turbo manifold
not too sure on intercooler size for front mount
s15 stock bov
Haltech or adaptronic?
Trying to get most stuff secondhand
Already have hi flow cat and a 2.5inch exhaust
Tuff clutch and extreme chromoly flywheel
And a 4.1 2way mazdaspeed lsd

any suggestions on my proposed setup

My only suggestion is to not skimp on the exhaust manifold. Nitrodann all the way!!! I'm currently researching converting my na6 and Dann was the first person I contacted :)

Had to check your name again. Just saw a beautiful red NA with flat black hard top. Number plate MXW00W thought it was you :)

I would love to be able to recommend the Haltech.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Strike the post above. I can now recommend the Haltech (see revised sig). Probably good if you can find a tuner who can do any other mods you want as well as the ECU, and make all the items work correctly together, get evidence of their having done heaps of previous successful work on MX5s, and get a written total price and timescale for the work, along with an agreement about what happens if the timescale is missed (e.g; they provide you with a loaner).
