I was actually being genuine.
Would have to do cams to get similar power from my 1.6

Ahh, sorry . Here, have beer on me
Mine now has a race exhaust and I plan to redo the tune based on some advice from gslender, so it will be interesting to see the power difference.

All good David.
I'd have to be an absolute c&$t of a bloke to start this thread and then bag people out.
Especially when my car probably has the least hp of all the cars mentioned here so far.

Yeah, that was me.

Sage, looks like you are running the std throttle body?
If so, would that not negate the advantages of a bigger plenum?

not sure at this stage as i said i only got the car. i believe its the standard throttle body though it is quite generous intake for a 1.6 at about 75mm. (Not sure what it steps down too within though ive read about 55mm).

On the 1.6 the intake pipe and afm are both more of a choke point. as you can i see i have neither AFM or standard intake pipes to the throttle body..

as i learn more about the car and the tune i may consider moving to a larger one.. though from what i understand the 1.8 has the same dimensions.. and if it can flow a 1.8 im sure it can flow a worked 1.6.

Though happy to hear from someone who knows more about these things. :)

I've never been to one, despite owning revvy cars such as a Rover 220 Turbo, Alfa 156, RX-8, etc. I'm only interested in improving the handling of a car, not its power. Thus I only think about suspensions and strut bars.

If handling is your thing probably worth while considering sway bars, under car braces and bushes too... I highly recommend the wheels, suspension and brake section ;)

Just dyno'd the car i brought from the UK.

- megasquirt 1
- mini supercharger MP45 with 17% reduction
- 1.6 NA
- boost leak on charger outlet
- 109rwkw

First run, I had part of a CAI plastic flange blocking the pre supercharger TB, which led to 3PSI at redline (!).

here's the result

I won't get into the nitty gritty with the dyno argument, I just answer the original question!

94 na8
Full exhaust, intake, cams and adaptronic
94rwkw
Prior to cams and ecu, so just exhaust and intake it made 75rwkw
4 years earlier on a different dyno made 75rwkw with same mods so not bad
On the 94rwkw best I've done is a 1.11.8 at wakie - I'm not as quick as Lou!

Just on that, as my car is no longer rego'd, how much difference would no cat converter make? If any?
