I am building up a 1.8 for a turbo. It has a sandwich type water/oil cooler unit between the block and the filter, fed by 8mm(5/16") hoses, same size that feed the idle valve and the thermostat bypass - one end delivers to the fitting on the left rear of the head. There is similar cooler for sale from a Familia GTR that looks like it has bigger water hoses. Does anybody know if this will fit on a BP 1.8 engine please? Are these held on with a hollow bolt of some sort ?

Re: oil/water intercooler compatability - Familia GTR ->BP 1
Don't bother. Not worth it.
Get a real one, especially for a turbo.
Use the search function there is plenty of information about this.

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)
