Both the ECU and the radio draw a small stay-alive charge. This will drain the average battery in 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the state of the battery. Disconnecting it typically extends that to two to six months. Nine months is pretty amazing, Skinny Jim.

I've got a Haigh multi-stage charger and it's been good but TBH it's usually much faster just to disconnect the battery than it is to find the charger, plug it in, connect it and set it to charge.

9 months is pretty good phil but i spose it was a fresh battery to begin with. one of those cheapo fullriver things, kinda like the cheap ass verswion of the odyssey
