Re: Stubby antenna - recommendations
ok so the instructions say they fit a 19mm hole.
however I just measured an NB8A and its around 25mm, so i'm waiting on a response from the website to see if it'll still fit or if it will need a custom washer.

The instructions also state that the maximum sized hole without requiring a washer is 25.4mm.

Re: Stubby antenna - recommendations
I already have a Lowcustom Shark Attack II (not the mini) installed on my NA8. Installation is a 5 min job, fit and finish is excellent. I've actually been complimented several times about how clean and even OEM it looks (No dodgem car power pole for me). The FM reception is better than standard (although I think my factory power antenna was faulty).
However I get NO AM reception. I know the website states AM reception is "not quite as good", but in Sydney with a Kenwood head unit I get NONE.
In saying that, if old-man-AM is not your thing, I highly recommend it.

standard aerial- I get both AM and FM- you are supposed to get them. AM is the one that you get around the State- insofar as ABC is concerned often picked and available to any traveller. A standard stubby on a local Ford works just fine on both AM and FM

You would be surprised Mr Mortlock that AM is not always well received on "modern" stereo's.
I can not tell you why this is the case but can certainly attest to AM reception being poor on most aftermarket stereo's fitted to VW's even when they charge $1000-$3000.

Thanks snow motion. I did hear some of the euros have poor AM but not sure of the reason.

Excellent! I'll take one. Prefer straight up, but OK with angled one as well.
