NB series 2 - front bar removal, help please.

Postby The Green Goblin » Mon Jun 16, 2014 12:19 am

Gents,

i believe i have removed all the relevant nuts & bolts according to the 'mazda miata 99-01 FSM' i picked up from a link on here, screen shot below of all related bits that need to come off (side note i couldn't find the correct FSM for my 2002 NB series 2). I am stuck on the last clip seen as follows.

Image

How does this come off? i was a little scared to yank on it too hard thinking i would damage the bar. is there a trick to removing this?

Image

- i have removed the very top screw
- does the second bolt down need to come off also? (i dont think this is connected to the front bar)
- circled is the clip as shown in the FSM.. (noted as 'C') not sure how to take this off.

appreciate any assistance.
J.

Just pull the bumper away from the car.

I did do that.. It was bending quite a bit to the point where i didn't want the clip or bar to break.. Il try hitting the inside of it to push it out rather than pulling.

Finally got the bastard off! Unbelievable how many clips/bolts had to be removed.

Cheers.
