NA8 with SSR Mk II fitment issues

Postby Eeyore » Sat Jun 14, 2014 11:51 am

Hi all we are having a little trouble fitting a set of 14x6.5 +19 SSR Mk II to the NA8. Basically the fronts fowl on the main caliper body and the support/anchor bracket. This is due to the quite shallow mounting boss on the back of the centre casting. I'm not sure how many people will have specific experience with these small diameter early style wheels but it's worth a shot.

Obviously the first (albeit questionably legal) proposal would be a 10-20mm spacer however I feel this would move the outer rim too close to the body work. It had occurred to me that spacers combined with adjustable camber arms may solve this issue. The only idea I came up with was a replacement caliper solution such as this kit - http://www.flyinmiata.com/index.php?dep ... 010%20INCH

How much space do you need before it'll clear? If it's not a lot you can shave the caliper and/or add 5mm slip on spacers.
