Postby Sage » Wed Jun 11, 2014 5:03 pm

Hey all i have a 1991 mx5 without any factory bracing.

Just wanting to know what car is suitable for a donor? I believe anything upto 1998 though im not sure..

Can someone please confirm i can fit bracing off any 1993-1998?

Thanks very much!

Yep, no a problem, identical chassis across all the NA's (although, NA's ended in 1997).

your old subframe probably won't have those tabs welded on tho.... you'll need to add them

Search the big forum, I seem to recall someone DYI fabricating some of these.

When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

Early cars won't have the right subframe to be able to bolt them on. By all means put braces on your car if your goal is to make your car heavier, and spend some money.

The NA6 chassis is also missing the mounting points at the front of the brace. The effort to put the bracing on seriously outweighs any benefits you may/may not get from it.
