Yeah good points. Although I wasn't really suggesting you could just bump everything up by 30% and hope for the best. Hence the smiley. You could keep an eye on idc / fuelling with yr air / fuel gauge and fine tune with the piggyback rather than just a flat 30% across the board.
Dann I understand that timing isn't static but does e85 follow a similar curve to petrol ? Could you use the same curve but just advance it a little bit?

Hi Dan,
Just a couple of comments on the flex fuel options.
The flex sensor is installed in the fuel line usually under bonnet and continually monitors the ethanol content.
The output from the sensor can now be fed into some ECUs and will dynamically adjust the tune according to the ethanol content.
It is being done here by a limited few tuners but has kicked off in the US where it's being used on the Toyota 86 and Subaru clone.
Moto-East tuning is a big proponent and offers pre wired kits for the 86 and is working on a complete system for the NC.

Re: E85 Tuning and general info thread.
^ That's a really good idea, people have been waiting for that feature in the stock ECU Evo world for a while.
You shouldn't really have too many troubles here in Aus with blends though since we just get E70>E85. If you drain the tank before changing from 98 and you tune so that timing isn't so aggressive that it can't run on E70 and not so lean that it can't run on E85 you'll be ok. Saying that after a while I just always used United E85 and never had a problem.
Having a Zeitronix ECA hooked up in your glovebox to check the mixture is a good idea though.

Wow. It's not that simple to change over. Plus you need a tuner who's well versed with it.
