ALLOY RAD TOUCHING STUFF

Postby narita » Sat May 31, 2014 10:12 pm

Yo homies,

So just wanted to check with people if anyone else has had their aftermarket thicker alloy rad vause clearance issues? Ive had mine in for a while but only recently noticed that the intake resenator makes contact with the rad hose to the thermostat and comes within a bee hand of the fan.

Mates na8 had same issue with an ASI. He fitted slimmer rad fan and an ARC intake.

I made a small bracket that holds the intake resonator closer to the front of the motor and further away from the fan frame.
From memory I shortened the radiator hose by 10 - 12 mm as the top radiator connector is about that distance closer towards the engine.

It still rubs very occasionally but no issue in about 3 - 4 years

Did either of you notice cooling increase or decrease afterward?

In what way?
Thermal capacity of the cooling system or engine temperature under load?
