I might not be a bad idea to do that. Insurance companies can be silly. One guy almost got his car written off because someone slashed the softop and took the radio and a factory radio was going to be something stupid like $1000 new from Mazda.

Will need a four wheel alignment to be paid for by your insurers as well. My alignment and corner heights are all over the place after the off at Winton even without an impact at the end of the multiple spin.
UK since return: Standard NC2 (horrid), C200K, ND2 BBR, NC2 BBR200 (loved it), NC BBR300 (better than BARMY), V-Special, turbo NB8B (my 84th car)

Thank you Paul, I really appreciate the offer. I'll PM you about cost.

I'm absolutely terrified my insurers will want to write this off. If so, I'll be funding repairs out of my own pocket.

I received some good news today; repairs are underway and garage reckons I'll have M1L3S back on Friday 23rd May.

M1L3S is back!!! :D :D :D

Drive feels fine, though I've only done a kilometre since picking him up. The garage advised me they didn't need to replace the shock or lower control arm as they were unharmed. (That's how slow I was going!) I've got a new rear bumper, alloy (painted!), and wishbone.

Great to hear Miles - good also that it was superficial.

Today I had my spacesaver bolted to the underside of M1L3S.

Cost was $494 inc. GST. $380 of that was labour. The muffler and 1-3/4 pipework cost $65.

I printed out the excellent posts by Caedrus and provided that to the mechanic: http://www.aus-cartalk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=16552&p=195398#p195398

(Photos aren't great - sorry)

I'm really happy with it and pleased I won't have to carry my spare in the cabin for my quick drive in January. :)

Particularly worthwhile in your case with the LPG tank & the upcoming drive.
