Great day again
Shame i didnt have fuel to run but a handful of laps on the sportsman and national.
I was impressed with the Dunlop Star Specs. Wondered why they felt edgy, then looked at the times!

Got a bit sideways on T2
Dont really like using that much Oppo Lock at 115kph

Great fun driving around with you yesterday Stu!

Thanks to all for great running of the day
Was great to finally drive the backstraight.
Just shy of 200km/h

I'm surprised you only got to 183km/h on the long straight, didn't you hit 191km/h at Lakeside?

Great pics+overlays of the 4 track layouts.

I'm 5kmh down on qr's back straight compared to lakeside, qr is definitely slower than lakeside for cars like ours. Just a little though.

Have regularly gone over 190 at LS, upto 194.
Only had three or 4 goes down the big straight, and probably hit the brakes 25 mtres early, but wouldnt have made much difference. I was reasonably committed at turn 2 to get the best run at it. She just seems to hit an aero brick wall i think. Doesnt seem to accelerate much at that end of the spectrum.

If I had your car, finished(will it ever be finished and dríven?), then maybe a bit quicker

Car53 had Harrys going also, would be interested to see his track map figures.
John was even trying to give me a push start into the straight!

Well, yesterday has ended my tyres well and truly. After only 5 track days from brand new, these RSRs are shot. Granted, this tyre was always on the loaded side, front left for 3 days and rear left for 2. But still, to go that quickly, I reckon more camber and semi slicks would last longer. Now I have to spend more money that I don't have :(

yeah you should have gotten more life than that out of those tyres.
Looks like an alignment and pressure adjustment required to me.
i was amazed after the first two sessions, on Clubman, my front left was 3 psi higher than other three tyres.
And i had serious understeer.
I equalised the tyre pressure, and soften the front dampers two clicks, and shazam, fixed!

My first 3 track days on them were run on 34psi hot, a little low. They were also on 100% stock suspension, spongy as hell and rolled right over to cause wear right up the sidewall. The last 2 days were on coilovers, but still maxed at 1.5deg camber front, 1.4ish rear. Also ran them at 36psi hot the last two days. Just don't seem to hold up how they should. More camber, and new tyres. Just might have to wait a bit :(

I run my Kumho KU36's at 36psi cold - handles perfect [IMO] and wear rate is fantastic - I'm damn quick, just not down the straights!!

Regarding top speed main straights, Lakeside I'm 7000rpm at the crossover right before the pits in 3rd then pick 4th, at QR I pick 4th at 7000rpm right on the start/finish line, entry speed at Lakeside is much faster!

Alignment. I ran my KU36s at 37-38 hot (adjusted after the first run) and both sets were evenly worn until worn down to the wear indicators.
I used to rotate them from time to time to make sure the front left got a spell on the right rear.

Have you checked the toe angle?
I ran nt-01s Doz track days still plenty of meat left on them (over 1/2 tread), with a pretty standard alinement and gaz gold coilovers with fairly soft springs. I got no wear like that.

With a true semi, you may find the side walls will be much stiffer, which should also may/help with the wear. I.M.O.

Zero toe.

That, plus the extra camber, should be all it takes. I'm hearing 10+ track days out of a set, depending on how you drive and conditions etc. I'll be driving to and from the track on them though, not trailering, so I'd expect a little wear over the ~120km/day to and from the track as well.
