Postby Novice1 » Wed May 21, 2014 9:35 pm

I am considering changing my diff to 4:1.

Just wondering if anyone in brisbane with same can take us for a test drive in their car.

You missed by 6 weeks.
You could have tried some of our NSW cars at Natmeet to see the improved acceleration.

Why not contact Danny and see who he's sold one to in QLD?

Ok ta, will do.

Any idea which gives more punch 1) headers and muffler from Danny or 2) 4:1 diff.

3) supercharger kit from Danny :) then see if you need more punch after that.

Certainly trying would be a good idea. Diff ratio chosen for Au is probably done for a specific reason e.g. lower revs and better cruising. My impression of NC are that they have plenty of acceleration for any daily duties esp with the speed / camera purges that prevail. A suggestion of a supercharger comes with the likelihood of no insurance amongst other things.

Headers and muffler will bump the output from 91rwkW to around 105rwkW. A tune on top of that will net you another 8rwkW from personal experience.

I fitted the 4.1 diff after all of the above mods (and then some more) so it's very hard to say what's better but the diff really makes the car jump off the line and accelerate hard. In 6th your are doing approximately another 400 rpm for the same speed, so it uses about a liter per 100 kilometers more in fuel. The headers, muffler anf tune use about 0.5 liters LESS than the standard consumption, so combining the two you'll use 0.5 liters more than standard, so another 85 cents per 100 kilometers.

It takes some time to get used to the additional revs, but the bigger smile you get is well worth it.

Bun in seat, I reckon headers and diff feel exactly the same.

I had the headers first, then it did the 4.1 install just felt like I installed the headers all over again.

It won't affect consumption noticialbly. Last track day I did the 200km drive down, thrashed the track all day and then made it half way home just under 9l/100 :)

You won't regret it Ron!

When Danny has his open day I'm hoping to road trip it up with a few of the guys for the weekend. If you done have the 4.1 before then you are welcome to take my car for a thrash

Danny was pretty spot on the money. Extractors with muffler made 132.7hp.

After flash tune 139.2 hp or 103.8 kw.

Torque extractors and muffler 192 NM

Flash tune 200 NM
