NC BC Racing BR Coilover Review

Postby monty11ez » Thu May 22, 2014 4:41 pm

Fair warning this is a little picture heavy, but I don't think you guys will mind. ;)

I was recently given the opportunity to drive down to Orlando, FL and spend the day with everyone at BC Racing. They were wanting to use my car to test their new spring rates as well as make a promotional video.

These were taken in the morning before the coilover install.

Back at the shop getting ready for install.

Had to modify the factory strut bar a bit.

We got an alignment before we hit the track again.

Apparently the tech didn't read the memo very well. I wanted 0 toe in the front.

I didn't really get any more pics or video of the after coilover secession, but BC Racing should be posting their video pretty soon.

Anyways after everything was all said and done, here are the final ride height pics.

This is the rear wheel.

My setup is as follows:
Front: Rear:
12.5" 13"
6 clicks 6 clicks

My clicks are measured from full soft with the first click being 1.

The handling is fantastic, and they appear to have great build quality. The spring rate is a little high for the street though. Big bumps and road patches can be very jarring; definitely not girlfriend approved. I have the dampers set almost exactly at the critical dampening point, and they really transform the car. Chelsea was able to shave off 1.5 seconds, on a hotter track, on the original 27 second autocross course he set up. The BC Racing superstore has them listed for $999, but the MSRP is $1250.

I have posted this review up on a few other forums, but feel free to comment here with any questions.
