If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: Mighty Car Mods MX-5
Wish they had put lap times up from Wakefield. Saying in a video 'it feels stickier' quantifies nothing
I reckon it'd have to be at least 4-5sec quicker, 1.5 from tyres alone, another 1.5-2 from coilovers and sway bars, plus there's the LSD and potential help from reducing heat soak.

Re: Mighty Car Mods MX-5
Um...I think its just a make up race, you could tell that Moog was actually had a bad launch. Not sure was he doing that on purpose, but you could see the time was so close, not even a second. It seems like they don't want to disappointed the MX5 owners and keep the argument going. On the other hand they need to have a reason to modify the S2000, but honestly since the S2K pre-tuned so well, what can they actually modify on it? Howeve, one thing for sure is we would love to see both car on a track race, not a drag race. A proper track race will bring out all the potential from both cars. Hope they will make one soon.

I really expected that to turn into an ad for Haltech once their PnP ECU came out. Interesting that it didn't.

Re: Mighty Car Mods MX-5
That episode would have been an excellent marketing strategy - soft approach, proving that the cheap plug and play won't work, seeding the Haltech brand and so on without actually appearing to sell anything.

What's the bet the Haltech PnP will be one of the 'essential' mods on the S2000 as they start bolting more bits on?
It may even be part of the next episode! They could have done the filming & dyno work while onsite when they made this episode......
Didn't the MX5 also get a Haltech when the MS arrived DOA?
In other developments Marty has just joined the MX5 Club of NSW as posted on their FB page......
