Who on here has had alot of experience with the throttle pipe upgrade options out there??? My SE is constantly blowing the stock one off and its begining to really sh*t me. I'm currently indecisive over whether to go with the mania option or try to get my hands on a BEgi one. Or alternatively try and build one out of whaever i find at bunnings.
Any suggestions on what you guys think is the best option for price and also how do you guys go about buying stuff from BEgi being outside of the states???

Get NitroDann to build you one. Supports local business and you don't have to wait for overseas shipping.
But yes FlyinMiata or Begi are the most popular off the shelf items.

Re: Throttle Pipe Upgrades
Throttle pipe?
As in the plastic joiner that goes over the throttle body?
Unless you've absolutely got your heart set on replacing it, why not just replace the clamp with a new one? (assuming the SE uses a worm clamp like the non-turbos do)
It sounds like the one on there is either not tight enough, positioned incorrectly, or has been stripped/stretched and isn't holding tension.

Re: Throttle Pipe Upgrades
Well then, thats a very obvious solution that ive completley overlooked. Too caught up in the idea of a new pipe will fix it.
I'll give that a go and see how a new clamp holds. just try banding the pipe maybe to stop it swelling.
Thanks.

See if you can get Dann to make you one.

Another problem is the soft throttle body inlet pipe. At higher boost levels, this can actually swell like a balloon. It`s pretty entertaining to watch. It can also blow off on stock cars which is not a happy experience. We decided to solve both problems at the same time.

If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Re: Throttle Pipe Upgrades
Just out of curiosity... How much funding would convince you, Mr. NitroDann, to fab up and ship a new one.?

I think he actually has these on the shelf these days... Try sending him a PM and he'll get back to you.
They all work in the same way and is basically an essential upgrade for any SE.
One thing to note about the FM one (as sold by Mania), it will need an extra barb welded on for the boost soleniod feed so add this to your calculations.
I'm not sure if the BEGi one has this barb fitted.......
The BOV outlet on these fittings are normally 32mm but the factory BOV hose (if you still have this in the OEM location) is 20mm so you need to organise a reducer of some description.
You will also need to source a short length of silicone hose (~50-60mm) in the appropriate diameter and two new high quality clamps.
